Elegant Military Wedding with a hint of Star Wars | Angela+Travis

I met Angela in the summer of 2014 while volunteering my services to the American Diabetes Association. Since then we have worked a few more times and became friends. When Angela and I met for coffee one day, she told me she met someone, and I still remember how she said ‘I think he is the ONE!”. I was so happy for her; the person with the kindest and sweetest soul, Angela deserved every bit of true love and happiness.

Angela+Travis have been dating for sixteen months. They loved traveling, hiking, biking, and everything about Star Wars. One day they decided to spend an evening in Seattle by eating out at their favorite restaurant, Marcela’s, their second date restaurant as they call it. After a nice meal, the couple took a stroll at a nearby Pier 55, and caught a ride on the Seattle Great Wheel. There, in the pre-arranged VIP cabin, on the top, Travis asked Angela to marry him and share Happily-Ever-After together!

I was thrilled when Angela+Travis asked me to photograph their wedding. For their wedding venue they chose Hidden Meadows, a beautiful and elegant rustic barn setting with majestic views of northwest mountains and plenty of twinkle lights. Travis, dressed in his parade uniform, and surrounded by his closest friends, looked sharp and ready, and Angela looked absolutely stunning in a beautiful lace gown and long regal cathedral veil. Bridesmaids, and especially groomsmen, enjoyed photographing underneath it, but I’m sure Angela enjoyed the most when Travis gave her a big kiss under the veil.

It was such a fun wedding, filled with joy and laughter, family and friends, tons of dancing and mingling. Each bridesmaid and groomsman received a custom-made gift, German stein with his/her name engraved on it. DJ Otto went above and beyond to make sure all guests had fun and place looked beautiful lit with different colors.

Even the Mother Nature was giving her blessing: unusual for this time of the year it wasn’t raining during outdoor ceremony, cherry trees were in full bloom, and a rare sunset came through for our evening portraits. During cake cutting, Angela+Travis surprised guests by revealing the Star Wars side of their awesome double-sided cake, which until then was showing only its traditional side. Playing Star Wars song at that moment just made it extra memorable!

I am so happy and forever grateful to witness Angela+Travis most special day and capture these beautiful moments! Wishing you both many happy years in love and peace!
