Pensacola Garden Wedding || Christina+Miguel

Christina+Miguel had a beautiful wedding at the Pensacola Garden Center. It was full of love, laughter, and a few happy tears. Especially, when Miguel and his band surprised Christina by singing a special song to her at the reception! These two are so perfect for each other and have such a cute love story, here it is in Christina’s words!
“Miguel and I met and became friends while studying music at The University of West Florida. I played viola while Miguel was a singer, so we did not have many classes together,  but we had a ton of mutual friends. After a while, I could tell that Miguel had some interest in me, but I was reluctant to give him a chance. After a ton of obvious flirting, I actually told him that I thought we would be better off as friends, and he was really cool about it and so was I. Until one night. Our group of music friends had a movie night on November 5th, 2012 in the music lab and watched none other than V for Vendetta. One of our friends, Kari, brought him a homemade apple pie that evening. I don’t even like apple pie… but THAT was a darn good pie! I’m not quite sure what snapped in me that night, but I knew that I was 100% jealous of Kari and thought that they had a thing for each other. We were all having such a good time just hanging out and he was still totally nice to me after I completely turned him down. I realized that I had made a huge mistake and needed to act on it immediately before Kari made him any more delicious pies. There was no way I could compete with that! She was sweet, pretty, funny, AND a good cook, and I needed to tell him how I felt before she outdid me. So after our movie night, I got in my car to go home and text messaged him that I actually did like him and that I just realized it that night. I pulled out of the parking lot to go home when my phone rang. It was Miguel. My heart sank. I was way too nervous to tell him how I felt face-to-face, so how was I supposed to talk to him?! Well, I answered the phone. He told me to turn around and come back so we could talk about this. And that’s how it happened. We went on a few dates after that and made it official very soon after. We will now always “remember, remember the 5th of November.” Kari and I not only ended up becoming good friends, but she was my first ever roommate, and she was even a bridesmaid at our wedding. And yes, she made us an apple pie, and it was even better than before.
We had been dating for 6 years when Miguel finally popped the question to me on a rainy evening in 2018. He told me we were going on a nice date and to dress up. I had an idea that he was going to do it that day but not the way he did it. I knew something was not quite right when he walked me to the door of 5 Eleven on Palafox Street downtown. I walked into a pitch-black room when all of a sudden the light came on, romantic music began playing, and all of our closest friends and both of our families were there yelling “Surprise!” He walked me to the middle of the room, gave me the most romantic speech, cried like a baby, got down on one knee, and finally proposed. Of course, I said yes through my teary vision. It was basically a surprise engagement and engagement party all in one! We got to eat and drink with all of the people that meant the most to us, and it couldn’t have been a more perfect evening.
After 6 years of dates, struggles, graduations, getting jobs, concerts, and trips, it was about time to seal the deal. The 6-year journey was well worth the wait for the lifetime that we now get to spend together.”
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Aldahondo! We wish you a lifetime of love, music and apple pie!
