Rustic Fairy Tale Wedding || Emily+Kyle

Emily+Kyle, a young and upbeat couple, have been planning their wedding for about a year and had a specific look in mind for their wedding venue. After checking out quite a few places around, they stumbled upon Coldwater Gardens, and both instantly knew – this was THE place where they wanted to get married in. They started planning their Rustic Fairy Tale Wedding at the Coldwater Gardens, such a unique venue with “glamping” cabins, a private beach, zigzagging roads lined with tall evergreens, yellow grass fields, a Koi pond, and even bunnies!

Every detail was well thought through and put together by the couple. Emily+Kyle met while dancing, so Kyle’s wedding band had an engraving FOREVER MY DANCE PARTNER. Emily wanted to be like a princess and found her perfect ball gown at the I Do Bridal in Mobile, AL. For the vintage feel on the tables, Emily and her mom have been collecting antique fine china teacup sets and plates in all different states for several months. In the end, each guest had a unique teacup and a dinner plate. Every guest table had an antique clock and a candleholder to complete the vintage look. Even a cake stand got a special treat and was placed on top of an antique Singer sewing machine. On another table, an antique typewriter was proudly displaying the request to sign the couple’s guestbook. Next to the typewriter, you could see a laser cut wooden invitation card for Emily+Kyle’s wedding.

Flower decorations, in shades of yellow, light pink and green, designed by Just Judy’s tied everything together with matching sets for the ceremonial arch, bride and bridesmaids bouquets, boutonnieres, and reception table centerpieces. Even little mason jars hanging on the aisle chairs had a sunflower in them.

To make this fairy tale wedding complete the bride, like a true princess, surprised all guests by having a truly grand entrance into the ceremony on none other than a white horse carriage by Carriages of Pensacola!

We asked them to share their love story for this blog and Emily shared the story of their engagement on November 24, 2017. It is just as adorable as they are, enjoy!

“When Kyle proposed he took me to my favorite place in the world, the Atlanta Aquarium. It’s the only aquarium in the United States that has whale sharks. We went through the entire aquarium and saved the whale sharks for last. There’s a giant room that is nothing but the glass wall of that tank. We sat down on the floor in front of the tank watching the fish, manta rays, and whale sharks go by Kyle took my hand and put the ring in my palm and whispered in my ear, “will you marry me?” It was a beautiful moment that I’ll never forget and in 10 years when we have kids, I love that I will be able to bring them right to the spot where he proposed. After we left the aquarium, Kyle got a hotel in the center of Atlanta with an amazing view of the entire city to stay in, and the next day we went to the amazing world of coca-cola. It was really nice to have the entire weekend to ourselves to just soak in the moment and get to enjoy the exciting new feeling of being engaged before all the planning started.”

Wishing Mr. and Mrs. Shields a lifetime of happiness, love, and an abundance of unforgettable adventures!
