Panama City Beach Surprise Proposal || Melissa+Travis

Travis was referred to me by a fellow photographer who was planning to photograph their surprise proposal in Daytona Beach. But with Hurricane Dorian heading that way Travis had to change his plan last minute. Not knowing anything about PCB, he asked for help in planning. Our first idea was to do the proposal at the top of the Skywheel, but he found out Melissa was afraid of heights and might not want to go on it. Because of this, we decided to do the proposal on the pier followed by a couple’s shoot in the pier park. Melissa had no idea and thought we were just doing a couple’s vacation shoot. It all went smoothly and we are so happy for Travis and Melissa!

If you notice butterflies in one of our photos it’s because ever since Melissa’s father passed away she has been seeing butterflies. Travis is the soulmate Melissa asked her dad to send, who was by her side that day.
Travis desperately wanted to incorporate butterflies into his proposal but with all the changes due to Hurricane Dorian, we couldn’t make it happen. We knew how much it meant to them so we worked a little magic and the end result says it all!

Sharing Melissa’s feeling about that memorable day, and it is just too adorable not to share:

The biggest, most romantic, thoughtful, sweetest, breathtaking, amazing and beautiful proposal EVER!!! This man stole my heart when I was 14 and again at 40! My 14-year-old self would never have believed her if she was told she was going to marry that man one day!! ….I think I was a freshman in high school and he was a freshman in college when we met first… and then 26 years later here we are!
