Greek Melbourne Wedding || Yasamin+Lexus

On October 9th, 2021, our team set out to capture Yasamin+Lexus's Greek Melbourne wedding. The special day started out in Hotel Melby Downtown Melbourne. Once our team arrived at the hotel at 12:00 PM, we introduced ourselves to everyone and set up our equipment. We proceeded to capture some detail images, including the wedding gown, shoes, and jewelry, at the bridal suite.

Shortly after, we met up with Lexus and his groomsmen to capture several images of him getting ready in the groom' suite as well as in the hotel's rooftop bar. As Lexus's session concluded, we met up with Yasamin once more at the bridal suite for some candid coverage and to capture her getting ready with some cameos of her mom and sister. After an emotional first look with dad and a loving portrait session with Yasamin and her bridesmaids, we all drove over to Saint Katherine's Greek Orthodox Church for the long-awaited ceremony.

The wedding ceremony lasted for about one hour and it was composed of multiple Greek traditions and endless love. It was so interesting seeing Yasamin's Greek family and Lexus's hispanic family come together to celebrate these two lovebirds on their wedding day. When the beautiful ceremony came to an end, it was now time for the Family Formal Portrait Session. This session was filled with endless laughter as all of Yasamin+Lexus's family members chimed in to take a photo with the newlyweds.

The clock then hit 6:00 PM and Yasamin+Lexus and our team were off to the Melbourne Beach Pier for their sunset portrait session.

Fun fact: This pier was where Lexus proposed to Yasamin! I love that they wanted to capture a different set of images at this spot to demonstrate the progression of their relationship into marriage.

After a gorgeous sunset session and capturing some epic images, we were off to Crush XI, a restaurant right in Downtown Melbourne with a unique atmosphere. Yasamin+Lexus chose this location for their wedding reception because it is their favorite place to eat at. The new Mr. and Mrs. made an epic entrance and said hi to all their adoring guests prior to sitting down at their sweetheart table. Not long after dinner was distributed and toasts were made, everyone got up to dance! Running around with my assistant between the dancing guests to capture all the joy and cheer was such a memorable experience.

Our team here at Lazzat Photography is forever grateful to Yasamin+Lexus for letting us play such an important role on their wedding day. We wish the two of them endless happiness as they embark on the journey known as marriage. On a final note, we wanted to leave you all with Yasamin+Lexus's personal recount on how they met:

"Our best friends are married to each other. They had gone to visit Lexus at work one day and had seen his previous relationships and how he was struggling with finding a good partner. He had asked if Irene's best friend (Meera) had any single friends. Meera messaged Yasamin and asked if she was seeing anybody. Yasamin had said she wasn't but really wasn't interested in dating as she was tired of some of the past relationships. Meera asked Yasamin to just give this guy, her friend, a chance. Yasamin said ok BUT NO PROMISES. The rest is history."

A special Thank You to our wedding vendors that made yasamin+lexus's Big Day extra special!
